SEOUL, Korea – May 26, 2026 - CareMedi, a South Korea-based medical device company, announced today the launch of CareLevo®, the world’s first insulin patch pump designed for up to 7 days of use.

CareLevo® is a wearable insulin patch pump that can be worn for up to 7 days, significantly exceeding the typical 3- to 4-day use period of currently available patch pump products. In addition, the product features a large 300-unit (3mL) insulin reservoir, making it suitable not only for people with Type 1 diabetes but also for people with Type 2 diabetes who require higher daily insulin doses.

Despite its increased insulin capacity, CareLevo® maintains a slim and lightweight form factor. The device weighs only 17g and measures 11mm in thickness, enhancing user comfort. It also features an IP48-rated waterproof design, allowing users to wear the device during everyday activities such as showering or light exercise.

CareLevo® incorporates CareMedi’s proprietary PEOP® (Plate Electroosmotic Pump) technology, backed by a strong intellectual property portfolio. The technology uses electrochemical reactions to move fluids, enabling precise control of drug delivery at the microliter (μL) level. Unlike conventional mechanical pumps, the system does not rely on motors or gears, significantly reducing both operational noise and power consumption, according to the company.

CareLevo® manages insulin delivery through a dedicated mobile application integrated with continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) systems, allowing users to adjust insulin delivery while tracking glucose trends in real time. In addition, web- and mobile-based platforms enable remote monitoring by healthcare providers and caregivers, supporting a more connected, data-driven approach to diabetes management.

CareMedi stated that it plans to continue advancing its artificial pancreas system and AI-based personalized glucose management services for CareLevo® users.

According to market research firm Precedence Research, the global insulin patch pump market is projected to grow from approximately USD 2.45 billion in 2025 to USD 13.65 billion by 2034.

Woonsup Shin, CEO of CareMedi, said, “As the global patch-type insulin pump market continues to expand rapidly, we believe innovative technologies will play an increasingly important role. With CareLevo®, we aim to accelerate our global market expansion and strengthen our competitiveness in next-generation insulin delivery solutions.”

CareLevo® is available for purchase in Korea starting May 26, 2026, via the official website (carelevo.com).
